Spring has finally arrived in Ohio! And not a moment too soon! I’m busy making deadlines but I thought I’d post a few links from some fun things I’ve been doing around the internet lately:
–This past week, on the USA Today Happy Ever After Blog, I got to give my hero, Brad, some badly needed first-date advise! Click here to view.
—FOR WRITERS: I did a post at Romance University on ways to keep tension in your writing. Click here to view.
—Blog interview at Land of Books: Click here to view.
–Lastly, here’s a peek at Meg and Ben on the gorgeous cover for my next Mirror Lake novel, This Love of Mine, coming in October:
Enjoy the amazing weather! (I’m still so shell-shocked from winter, every time I look outside and see green I still can’t believe it :))

Miranda, I am so happy it is spring too! Love your cover. RU’s article on how not to be boring is just what I needed! I keep reading and revising my WIP so it’s not boring. Those were great points on description, romantic tension and avoiding the cliches is so hard sometimes because we are so used to reading them it falls so easily on the page.

Hi IreAnne, NEORWA sister!
I’m so glad you stopped by to tell me the RU article was helpful! It’s based on stuff I’ve learned from different places, but if you want a great book that I love that talks about a lot of that stuff, read Donald Maass’s The Fire in Fiction, especially the chapter on Tension. It’s excellent! I have a terrible time with cliches and when my agent reads my stuff she crosses EVERY one out and tells me no, no, no. Best of luck on your WIP. Soon we’ll be seeing your name as a published author. Best, MJ
